Frasier

Daphne's brother was probably the worst character to ever appear in a sitcom.
I was always amused that one of Daphne’s brothers had a Scottish accent (Robbie Coltrane) while another had a cockney accent that was the worst I have heard since d*ck Van Dyke appeared in Mary Poppins, while Daphne herself’s has what was supposed to be a Manchester accent.

Good programme though. Scripts, acting, characters, all excellent.

Edit: isn’t it incredible that you can’t even write the name of d*ck Van Dyke on this forum without it being censored ?

What about d*ck Emery?

d*ck Turpin?

d*ck Barton, special agent?

d*ck from the Famous Five?

Dickie Rooks?

Didn't they do a one-off special quite recently? Where Frasier had written a play about the Cheers bar and his love for Diane?
Or did I dream it?

Can't see this working - the appeal was the tension between Frasier and his Dad, the sibling rivalry of Frasier and Niles, plus the will they/won't they about Niles and Daphne. Two out of those three have now gone.

Don't see why it can't work. Frasier was transplanted from Cheers into a new situation. Maybe they can do it again. Fingers crossed.

Maybe he could return to Boston and take over the bar, loved cheers on a Friday night.
It the writing is as good as before it will work if it doesn't then there's always the re runs
