I always thought Steve Coogan's Paul Calf character would have been perfect for that role.Daphne's brother was probably the worst character to ever appear in a sitcom.
I was always amused that one of Daphne’s brothers had a Scottish accent (Robbie Coltrane) while another had a cockney accent that was the worst I have heard since d*ck Van Dyke appeared in Mary Poppins, while Daphne herself’s has what was supposed to be a Manchester accent.Daphne's brother was probably the worst character to ever appear in a sitcom.
David Hyde Pierce stole it, for me. He was the best of the lot.Worth the risk, I think. Just hope it can capture the sharpness of the original.
But this was mooted some time ago and then the talk was of Frasier going off on his own. Personally, I don’t like that idea- got to have Niles!
