I was happy for the Rogers sale, he didn't have that great an impact on our side for me, nothing like what Tav or Akpom were, who went for similar or less money. It's another feather in the cap of the recruitment team too.
Lath signed for 4m and could realistically attract 15m bids
Rogers 1.5m sold for up to 16m after just 6 months
Rav signed for 200k could realistically attract bids of 12m this summer
Dieng 2m could attract 5m bids
Glover free, rumours of 1.5m bid from celtic
even if Engel, Gilbert, Silvera, and Bangura have dropped a couple of mil in value; weve still turned 13m investment into ~52m in assets. That's a fantastic return. Same again this summer and we should have one of the best squads in the champo
I'd take £10m for VDB, I prefer Lenihan to be honest, as his leadership makes a massive difference and we know we can hold onto him, and Fry is probably good enough to partner him and Clarke getting better and better.
I like Bangura, he just needs to play and stay fit.
Engel is a bit hot and cold.
I don't trust Silvera's finishing enough for a play-off side.
Not seen enough of Gilbert.
I'll pay for Glover's taxi if we get £1.5m.
Deffo want to keep Dieng, he's just as good as Steffen IMO, if not better, certainly with shot stopping and he's more than good enough with his feet.
If we can get a couple of decent additions (holding centre mid and right back) which can hit the ground running, and keep relatively injury free, then maybe next year will be our best chance out of any we've had recently. The teams coming down are awful, and none of them are really going to have a great deal of cash or support, compared to some of the other teams who have came down recently.
We've done well since Christmas really, considering all our injuries and players away, and this latter half of the season should help a lot of the newer or younger players a lot. Should be a big difference getting those players back and with more experience for next year, providing we don't have too many key outgoings like we had last year.
I want Leicester, Leeds and Southampton to go up, as I want them out of the way, not afraid of any of the others, or those coming down (assumed Sheff Utd, Burnley, Luton).
