Foreign Owners

Perhaps not, but at least we’d have a fighting chance of competing for something, the big six have a monopoly on the PL title.

Leicester and Blackburn aside it’s the usual suspects that win the league every year, even Blackburn bought the title though.

It's been that way since the beginning.

In 133 seasons, only 24 clubs have won the league, 7 of them winning it before the 2nd World War and not since, and for the main part it's been dominated for large periods by a small selection of clubs with the odd new winner coming out of nowhere.

The 39th game isn’t the danger as that’s just marketing the real targrt is promotion and relegation spaces and numbers that’s the real prize these foreign owners have in their sights.

They should’ve let the ESL go ahead, get rid of the greed of the PL and their unscrupulous owners, maybe then we could actually get football back.

Clubs of our size have zero chance of competing against the money of Arab states or Russian oligarchs… as it stands our top league in this country is a waste of time for me 😡
Hopefully it’s only a matter of time before the “Fantasy League” clubs get their promised land.

Then the proper football clubs can get on with a proper competition with level playing field.

This is a line that is trotted out time and again and it’s just rubbish as all that will happen is the mega rich will be replaced by the next richest on the ladder and I and in it goes.

so Man City will be replaced by wolves etc who will then out spend the rest

the reality is their is no football utopia on the horizon.

It would be a much more level playing field than it is today.

The top players will all want to play in the Fantasy League which would leave a pool of players of more equal quality for clubs to fight over.

The clubs who assemble the best squad of those players will be competing for top of the table.

Yes, it won’t be every club with a chance every year but with less money in the league it is more feasible that lesser clubs can compete.

Those with more money will always have the edge. Just as they did back in history, but with less money around it gives more clubs a chance.

The big money won’t be interested in our league anymore. These foreign sheikhs and oligarchs won’t be interested.

There would be less foreign players coming to a gravy train league too. So clubs would need to invest more into local talent and those that unearth a few gems can compet

There will be less emphasis on “buying” success and more focus on sustainable business and football development practices.

Maybe I’m talking “rubbish” but I’d prefer to give it a go than continue to sleepwalk into this ever increasing elitist set up.

But you’ve just described the championship and most players can’t waiting to get out of it.

The championship is the best league in England 👍🏼

And the players who want to get out of it want to play in the countries top league. Which would already be the case in the scenario I describe 👍🏼
