Good one. Nice try dalwinErimus, I read on another thread that you were like 92 or something, so perhaps you can help me. My first boro game was gainst a team in blue, I think it was leicester. It was about 76, 77. About 20 minutes in to the game the floodlights failed and we were all sent home.
Could you tell me what game that was, what the year was and I think it was 0-0 when the lights failed, can you confirm or deny that for me too.
I have argued with my dad about this and we cannot agree.
Oh for completeness my dad says it was about 73, it wasn't leicester but he can't remember who we played, and we got to very close to half time before the lights went out.

I hate it when we play on a Wednesday too. Tuesday is footy night, any other midweek night is like dating your girlfriends sister, its just wrong.
Thanks Erimus, Rob. Its good to know my 8 year old memory is still better than my 86 year old father's. I would have sworn it was 0-0 though. I remember going to the next home game which I don't remember much about but I remember the players handing out flowers and kicking balls into the crowd to thank the fans for good behaviour.Laughing, here you go, match report, well so much of the match report
As Rob correctly posted we were 1-0 up & Keith Welkar was charging towards our goal when the lights went out
I was in the Holgate that night with my younger brother & erimus senior
I'm a bit younger than 92 mind

Actually looking back at my post my dad was closer with the year than I was. Damn I can't give him the report for Christmas, he will gloat.
I dont have a clue of my 1st Boro home game, my dad took me the back end of 1971 but couldnt name the teamThanks Erimus, Rob. The match report you included will be a present for my dad. I will try and print it and frame it for his Christmas.
Thanks very much fellas. Oh the 92 was a joke! I think someone on another thread was poking fun at your age Erimus.
Yep should be tonight coluka, another 24 hours to waitI hate it when we play on a Wednesday too. Tuesday is footy night, any other midweek night is like dating your girlfriends sister, its just wrong.
Me too, always a tuesdya for me, it just doesn't seem right playing on a wednesdayTuesday for me aswell. Not a fan of a boro game on a Wednesday. Hate having to wait that extra 24 hours!
No we won 2-1 knocking out of the league cup, the 1st cup double over City that seasonDid that Man City match get called off when the fog descended Ayresome about 1990ish ? Was in the Holgate and we couldn’t see past the half way line and i seem to remember we faked scoring a goal .
