until they play us.
Usually a worldly Yet we never seem to score from outside of the box in recent times. 14% is the average do we get anywhere near that?

The goal against Leicester wasn't bad?

Shots from outside the box are generally a bit of a hail Mary so it probably is better statistically speaking to keep hold of the ball and make a clear cut chance.

Also many teams in this league have a low block against us (as we are considered a top side in the champo) so we would be shooting through bodies. Whereas we are quick to empty our midfield and charge forward, leaving space for the opposition to shoot from range with only a couple of retreating centre backs to avoid with the shot.

This is a bit of a non-post (through lack of detail), but I'm pretty sure that a couple of seasons ago a fullback score a bit of a 'worldie' against us, and it was his first goal in about three years, and not many career goals. The same player then scored his second goal of the season against us in the corresponding fixture in the second half.

I can't remember the fixture, the player, or the exact season... but it irked me

Edit: I wonder if anyone can identify the player, fixture or season!

Usually any debutant (when then goes on to prove to be very limited in ability to score goals for the rest of their career )

We're conceding some preventable belters this season because of the defence backing off. I thought we'd got past that mostly since the first international break but Saturday was the same again. It's a screamer but we allowed him all the time needed to have a go.

Was it Fabio, when he was at Cardiff?

This is where stats don't really tell the full story of a goal. xG etc don't take into account the exact situation. Bristol's first goal had an xG of 0.03. He was a long way out but if you look at the situation fully he had no defenders or midfielders pressuring him, the keeper left a lot of room to his left so really that xG of 0.03 is a question of how many times could a player with as much time/space as they need hit half of the target from that position and the xG becomes a lot higher. It was a very good finish but it was atrocious defending. If you keep conceding "worldies" then it's probably telling you that you are giving players too much time and space in long range shooting positions and from watching us you can see that is definitely the case.
