Hardly disrespectful, a 96 year old has come to the end of her life it happens every single day around the world sadly. Its a person most of us have no connection with so why do our lives need to stop? What a serious lack of respect from the above.
All next weeks games would he in doubt as well mate not just satI'd fully expect them to be cancelled if she dies on Saturday morning, not so sure I'd agree it should be done if it's today or early tomorrow.
I do wonder what the situation would be for those who've paid for public transport to get to the match.
No chance, hotels sometimes offer free cancellation until the day before depending on the terms of the booking but small independent places probably wont be able to afford loosing outDoes anyone think the Blackpool B&Bs will be offering refunds?

So what if football players choose to stay at home and mourn, that would be their rite surely?Hardly disrespectful, a 96 year old has come to the end of her life it happens every single day around the world sadly. Its a person most of us have no connection with so why do our lives need to stop?
Simple solution, if you want to stay at home and mourn then do so, if people dont want to they wont
I don’t care if you agree that’s what will happenWouldn't agree with that at all.
Obviously it's not up to me, but the day of death and day of the funeral is fair enough, in between is excessive.
Ah, so would like the National Day of mourning but not the fixture cancellation??
I don’t care if you agree that’s what will happen
No one has lived through anything on this scale. I wouldn’t rule anything out.
We were playing Spurs, I remember because we were driving back up to Boro and we were listening to it in the car.I still remember they cut off the Boro commentary on the radio 5 minutes before kick off and played supermarket music for about 8 hours when the queens mam popped her clogs
Trying to force 99.999% people to mourn over a complete stranger they only know from watching television
b***r. I never thought of that. My daughter is coming from New York to run in that.Does the Great North Run count as sport, I know there are some Elite athletes as well as the more rotund of us
I was thinking the same thing. Heading up north tomorrow and have Newcastle v quins on sat and running this on Sunday.Does the Great North Run count as sport, I know there are some Elite athletes as well as the more rotund of us
Sounds about right, employers will determine whether you can mourn or not. Diana and Queen Mother all over againI am in no way questioning what jedi is saying, but all I can see after a quick scan online is exactly this - there will be a day of mourning for her funeral and in respects to working, it is up to the employers to decide if they want to close or not. Can't find anything mentioning sporting events. Even TV channels can broadcast as normal etc (apart from the BBC).

But it’s not an opinion we know what will happen.I'm not sure why you think you're the only one who's aware of the protocol for what happens when the Queen dies .
We've all got the Internet.
I'm giving my opinion on it, not stating what's going to happen.
But it’s not an opinion we know what will happen.
It wasn’t that it was if the games off it I don’t they should etc.How is saying I think that's excessive not an opinion?
You've then jumped down my throat over it, like you have a fewer other posters in the last few hours.
I'm well aware that there's a strict protocol that the media of this country will be following.
Only events on the day will be cancelled. And not just this weekend either next week would be in doubt as well
