I'm at a loss to understand why we aren't using Go Fund Me or Crowdfunder for this.

It's visible, people can see whats been donated and then everyone can contribute even if its only a couple of quid.

What happens if not everyone who says they will donate via Rob doesn't and we're short of the target?

I guess it isn't that high. Am happy to do whatever people think.
I can pay the club and people can pay me.
 
I'm happy to pay you Rob but if we don't start soon people who expressed an interest will have lost interest and we need an option for people who didn't express an interest initially to have the opportunity to chip in if they want to.

Again what happens if two weeks down the line we haven't raised the full amount? I'm guessing you don't want to pay out the full amount upfront and then get left short? Or to have to start refunding 20+ people if the target isn't reached.

I have everyone's email except yours. Now that Rob has replied to me , I'm going to send out a message with deadlines re.payment.
 
Let's get this moving Buff and let's get Patrick Robert's signed up! all monies transferred to Rob by the end of the week, everyone pay promptly and away we go.

Okay, I've set up an account. Once I've calculated how much we need per person I'll send you the link vía e-mail.
I'm at work so that may be later in the evening
As you can see there will be a commission from the platform (@3%).
Also need to decide what to do if those who said they would contribute don't and we don't reach the full amount.
My idea is just donating the money to a local charity if that happens - maybe the club foundation if that's an option?
 
Am sure the Foundation would be delighted - I had a meeting with them last week following this sponsorship idea - and am looking to set up closer ties between our two groups. But I reckon we will breeze home.
 
Okay great. I've set up the account and Rob also has full access to it.
If anyone else wants to support us please send me a private message before midnight UK time today. That will allow me to calculate the per.person total before I send the email.
ONCE AGAIN: we can only pick a player to sponsor who is on the list I get from the club at the time we make the payment.
