FM 23 out to play now - boro manager is vacant

I'm still playing an old one. with crystal palace I won the league twice, the European cup once, the league cup three times and the FA cup once. The fans consider me to be an icon. I am however not held in as high esteem as Steve coppell and Andy Johnson who are considered legends. I'm going to continue playing this game until my statue is placed alongside coppell and Johnson. Complete ungrateful b***ds the palace fans are.

My favourite thing in my game is that Bournemouth moved stadium and called their new ground Eddie Howe park. They then remployed Eddie Howe who promptly got the team relegated and was sacked. I discovered this when I got a news item saying Eddie Howe attended Eddie Howe park to scout one of my players. I bet they made him pay for his ticket.

I've just reached the break for the World Cup in my Boro save, and after a sticky start, we're sitting in 2nd place looking good.

I tried to replicate Carrick's 442/4231 formation from the start, and after a tweak from the 442, turning it into a 4231, that's when the results started coming and seeing some decent displays.

Akpom and Muniz are combining really well, both scoring goals, with Muniz the second top scorer and he bagged 4 in one game against Preston. Giles as a LW and Bola as LB is my only real difference from real life. McGree just isn't doing it for me and him, Crooks, McNair and Mowatt are struggling to get game time.

I've only made one signing, an American 19 year old who was playing in Brazil called Johnny, and yes, he is the natural successor to the Jonny Howson!

Well I've just finshed my third season with Boro (i "wfh") and i got promoted as champions first season, 10th 2nd season and 6th 3rd Season. Only Fry, Lenihan, and Jones still in the squad from the class of 23!

Edit - Mcgree is still bossing it too from the class of 23!

Finished season 1, promoted as Champions playing 4-2-3-1. McGree is excellent, Akpom, Muniz and Jones ditto.

Accidentally let Akpom's contract wind down and with Muniz back at Fulham I'm a little short for options up top!

None of the loan players will be back either - all of their clubs would rather them go elsewhere to develop!

I had this problem, only had about 30 mil after going up and steffen, muniz and even giles were out of my budget to turn permanent|! There is a striker at the Croation club Osijek - absolute solid gold. Should be cheap end of first season too. Signed him half way through third season for about 11 mil and hes a baller

Ah, actually saw him! An enquiry suggested they wouldn't sell for any price so left it there but might be worth seeing if Keiron can work his magic! :)

Not sure as The console version is a stripped down version of the game
Update.
Tried the console version, have it 10 minutes and deleted it. It's nigh on impossible to use at any sort of speed without a mouse and keyboard.
A shame really as I don't have a PC.

Just finished my first season as Boro. Finished 1st and won the Caraboa Cup 😁😁 Akpom was brilliant in my first season. I also recalled Payero to improve the midfield.

This has always been my issue with the thought of playing FM on a console. It looks like they’ve dropped the PS5 version, I heard Miles talking about the game on talksport today and he mentioned every version of the game but not PlayStation.

I would recommend the touch version of the game though if you have a decent tablet.

Hayden Hackney has just been ruled out for 3-4 months on my save with… a blood clot 🙄

I’ve never had an injury like that before on this game.

I have just finished my first season as Boro on FM Touch. Not the same as the full game I know but since my laptop went to the laptop grave yard in the sky its the best I can do until I can afford a new one.

Anyway, we won the league by 6 points 🙌 so got promoted. Highlights included Muniz scoring 32 league goals (!), McNair getting 16 assists from midfield and Dael Fry winning Championship player of the year. Got to the FA Cup quarter finals, which included winning 1-0 at Stamford Bridge after extra time, before losing 4-1 to Arsenal at the Emirates after extra time.

Towards the end of the season Steve Gibson sold up, to Stewart Donald of Sunderland fame!

In the pre season before my first season in the Premier League my number one priorities were signing Zack Steffen and Muniz on a permanents. Steffen wasn't having it saying he wanted to play for a club with a bigger reputation than us, so he is now back on the bench for City, but managed to sign Muniz for only £12m, which I was delighted with. After Steffen turned me down I tried to get Ortega from City and Dean Henderson from United but neither were interested, however I landed on my feet by seeing that Newcastle had added Nick Pope to the transfer list. Less than £4m later and he is in. Payero has come back from Boca and gone straight into midfield, alongside a 5 star potential midfielder on loan from Juventus and McNair. Also signed Todd Cantwell from Norwich and a 5 star potential wide forward from South America called NeNe. Really struggled to get a good left back in with my remaining budget so brought in Nathan Patterson on loan from Everton. I've got a young Argentine lined up for January however.
