Flying ant šŸœ day

Yeah, Iā€™ve noticed shed loads in Norton this evening. Hate them with a passion.

raid powder in a watering can of boiling water, mix well and pour on nest entrances

The grandkids and I have been irritating them with buckets of cold water. The beagle has been eating them. Both sides have now called it a night and are regrouping for round two tomorrow.

I am getting loads of bluebottles. Drive me mad. I realised today that I have had more contact with bluebottles than I have with people over the last 5 months.

I may be on my own here, but I love ants, industrious little fellows. My wife, well that is a different story.

No such thing a flying ant day, itā€™s basically a period of when conditions are just right - happens at different times accross the country

Was a day last week where there were loads, and yesterday was tons too.

I've not got much against the flying ones either really. That's why it was cold water harassment rather than boiling water death.

Flying ants are mostly harmless to humans, but they do have a strange effect on seagulls who can appear drunk after eating a few due to formic acid they expel.

That's according to the Sun!
