Flights into the UK

Out of interest I had a look at flights arriving into Heathrow.

WTF is the point of putting the country into lock down whilst still allowing flights into the country from all corners of the globe, including numerous planes from New York which appears to be in the verge of a catastrophic loss of life. Madness.

What's coming from New York. All flights to the UK and Ireland were supposed to have been grounded last week. I live on Long Island, not far from JFK and it's been really peaceful.

Heathrow is a major European hub. That New York Flight is Finnair so it could be, not saying it is, returning Finnish residents who will change to smaller flights home. So the majority of passengers will be in transit. The Kenyan flights I guess families returning home. Kenya have banned all future flights anywhere as from yesterday so this should be the last

Best friend was in the last UK bound flight from Bali last night as all UK citizens abroad have been instructed to return the UK but Emirates wouldn't let people on the flight to Dubai if it wasn't before a certain time, however the 250 passengers played enough hell to get themselves on and made it to Dubai where all connecting flights were delayed to allow passengers to make the connection. She gets into Manchester later this afternoon. Hopefully she can then get a train back up to Newcastle

All the changes to flights have cost her a small fortune, she was supposed to be flying back on Friday so had had to reschedule everything. I don't think it's been the best holiday as she just been stressed throughout

One of many contradictions throughout this pandemic.

I think there are far more decisions being made for political purposes than any of us realise.

What’s Boris Johnson doing letting flights into Italy, Spain and France too
Trying to get stranded Brits home.

The holiday companies have stated that the only flight tyhey have are empty going out to get standed holiday makers and other travellers home.

Is that ok with you?
