I remember being furious about the fee paid for him, I actually love him since pulis brought him into the fold, think there's a really good player there that will only get better 👍
 
I think he's just getting better and better. Lovely finish for his goal today and never stopped working. I'd love to know why Woodgate didn't start him against Swansea...
 
11 goals in 39 games, without taking penalties, in a side that has struggled massively.

It's not amazing, but he's had a solid season and I hope he gets a longer contract.
There's no more Gestede to steal his place either.

Totally agree. Don’t get why any fan would be against him getting a new deal. He’s had a solid season and looks like he’s got another manager who rates him, could be a perfect match if Warnock stays.

I disagree.
He wasnt worth 6.5M, but hes developing into a good Championship player.
In todays new market I doubt we`d get much more.
Hes scored some useful goals.
Thats why I said he had "come on no end".
Compared to the 15M we paid out for Brit , hes much better value on the pitch - he would have scored more if his strike partner was consistently up to the job(y)
I hope Warnock can bring him on even more - if it adds to his value, then all to the good.
 
I think it's also worth remembering he was used more as an inside forward out on the left earlier in the season.

If he'd been used as a no 9 all season I think he'd have scored more goals.
 
I am not remotely a fan of this lad, but today he worked really hard, scored a very good goal and showed some aggression/had some presence for the first time.

I'd love him to really kick on and prove me absolutely wrong.

I also thought Assombolonga worked hard today.

It really does make you think what the thought process was last saturday at The Riverside. Gestede and Nmecha chosen to start.
