Seems reasonable until you remember the Q's for the ladies can be - HUGE - so they'd just fill the men's ( anyones loo ) & some blokes will end up using the basin's as urinals or pee themselves..
 
TBH I don't think this is about votes, it's a bit of common sense & everyday government.. if anything they should have said women's lavs need to be bigger..

This is b***ks. It's a genuine gender issue for women and girls.

A consultation, which received 17,000 responses, found 81% agreed with the intention for separate single-sex toilet facilities and 82% agreed with the intention to provide universal toilets where space allows.

It won't add complications because single sex toilets were the norm in the past and every one in planning and building managed.

All very well, but what do we then provide for trans (male or female).

I have a trans daughter and one thing continually on her mind is what does she do if she is caught short?

Can’t use the men’s, can she use the ladies? If not where does she go?

Do we have a seperate toilet for trans people, thus singling them out even more?

Lots of cafes here have shared facilities, we don’t seem to have too many problems. Maybe it’s a British thing .

Disabled loos will count as a universal toilet so the current arrangements will continue without the need for change.

OK where there are universal toilets but have not seen this issue addressed where the toilets are gender based.

I would imagine it will remain as it is now.
