First solution - a settled 11

This was part of our success last season under Carrick.

Apart from an injury to somebody - you knew what our line-up was going to be every game.

This season, completely different line up every game.

Suggests 2 things:

- obvious one....he doesn't have a clue what his best 11 is
- hes in panic mode

Which 11 do you pick though. So many options!

Me personally, forgive the awful formatting but id like to see a formation change and a team like below.

I think Hackney could really thrive as a number 10, or if howson can't play every game - move hackney CM and bring mcgree in number 10.

--------------- Dieng ---------------
-------- VDB -- Fry -- Lenihan -------
Jones ----------------------- Bangura
------- Howson --- Obrien ---------
--------- -- Hackney -------------
----- Latte Lath ---- Forss ------

I think we can see our best players now and their best positions. We can clearly see a 1st string and a 2nd string appearing..the only variable now is the system snd the shape to how we set up

4-2-3-1 vs 3-4-3 either lose the central defender or lose the lone striker.

1st string

———————Dieng———————
———-Lenihan—Fry—RVDB———-
Jones—Hackney—O’Brien—Coulson
———-Forss—Crooks—McGree——
———————-Coburn————-—-

2nd string (subs)
———————Glover—————-——
——-Dijksteel—McNair—Clarke———
Smith—Barlaser—Howson—Bangura
——Silvera—Latte Laff—Rogers———
——————-Greenwood——————

or my preferred approach would be
5-3-2.. drop the left of the three into midfield and go with the 10 and the striker.

The team base on fitness and ability should pick itself.. players competing for position snd the shape being dictated to by the opposition.

We actually have quite a thin squad.. injuries and abilities restrict our first choices.

Things to be happy about:
RVDB - quality and will only get better
Jones - he is class
Forss, Crooks & McGree - did it last season
O’Brien - championship quality
Coburn - solid 1 in 3 striker
