Watch the film about the story of Ferrari motor racing team and it's drivers, focusing on the heady days of racing in the 50's and 60's. Fascinating and quite chilling what these guys went through, the tragedies. The stories and insights about the drivers by the people around them. It was on SkyDocs

“Eh la machina”

when told about the horrendous death of one his drivers this was enzo’s chilling response caught on camera in his office ... and what about the car?

yes it’s a great documentary and shows how brutal that era of motorsport was. Enzo loved to pit the drivers against each other with more drivers than cars to create an inner rivalry.

but he was not unique as look at lotus and the statement that was told to jochen rindt if want to live stay where you are but if you want to win the world championship move to lotus. Sadly we all know what happened next.

Yep, the drivers were special and in-spite of how they were treated wanted it more than anything. Some decided to walk away when they knew they would not succeed, other clearly paid the price.
