Faro Portugal Recommendations?

I'd go with a taxi over a train. More expensive but the train stations are much further inland... so you'd probably need a taxi to the beach towns from the stations anyway.
The bus station is next to the Eva Hotel.
A bus to vilamoura should be cheap.
The Eva Hotel itself has a fantastic outside bar near the main entrance overlooking the harbour.

I’m currently sitting in Faro!! It’s a bit of a dump tbh… I’d say best bet is grab a rental car and drive west!

Just had a week in Lagos - absolutely stunning little place, beautiful beach and loads of nightlife.

Also spent a few nights In Carvoeiro, lovely little beach with mild nightlife and some good restaurants.

My humble opinion would be head west as there’s so many lovely towns and coves to explore and petrol is cheap / rental cars are peanuts.

Enjoy !!

Faro was canny.. jumped on the first pub crawl when I arrived so the cool bars were sorted straight away. Faro itself has a bit of a nature reserve vibe to it.. plenty of cheap informative trips and you can't really fall off with the food. Albufeira for a bit more action.. the marina area seems more British than Hartlepool.. but it's the place to go to book boats tours and that. Olhos D'Agua was beautiful and Jet Skiing with Dolphins was an unexpected highlight. The footy was *****, the old town is really good. Highly recommended, cheap as chips and plenty to do even in the off season. Teesside Airport, get straight on it as soon as you arrive, pre-book loads of activities.. action packed mid week break that is cheaper than a weekend in the boro!!
