Hello mate, would you mind if I picked your brain briefly regarding a bit of Asian Cinema? I was chatting to a mate today and we both couldn't remember the name of a film we both remember seeing. Or at least we remember bits of it. Couldn't remember if it's Japanese or Korean, though its rural setting pushes us towards Japan. It's from around the late 90s or early noughties. We can't remember the plot line, but think it centres on the relationship between three schoolboys growing up. The only images we could swear to are one of the boys having drawing pins pushed into his hand by a bully, and one the boys' grandfather owning a chicken shack. Sorry I have no further detail beyond we both recall liking it, but my head was already in a bit of a spin from the grimness of watching "Purple Blue", an anime of no redemption.
Hope you can help. No worries if not.
