Have you gotten around to listening to the new Libs album yet? It's out today.

This one is my favourite so far, although sounds like it belongs more on the Grace/Wastelands album.

Badly wanted to like it and, relieved to say I’m really enjoying it - now on 2nd run through.

I do like Baron’s Claw and love Merry Old England - great challenging lyrics which, I’ve now read, shouldn’t have too much read into them.

Great to hear all band members singing on, what I now know is an old John Hassall song - Man with a Melody. It’s gorgeous.

Lyrics on ’I have a Friend’ are just so evocative and remind me why I like the band so much.

Love the ballads and the two ‘explicit’ songs (oh sh 1 t and ‘be young’) are going to be bangers live.

I reckon they will be chuffed to bits with how it’s come out.

Yeah, Merry Old England is an interesting one.

Initially I was certain that it was written as a pro-immigration song, however, after watching the music video I'm not so sure, as it finishes on the two immigrant lads attempting to mug a lad but then one of them gets stabbed (same lad who'd featured in the Night of the Hunter video).

I'm wondering whether they've done that so that the messaage can be left for interpretation.
