FA cup third round TV..

I was reading recently that the wide audience is much greater for Man Utd than any other club and that's why they are always covered. Obvious I suppose.

When was the last time a Man Utd FA Cup match was not on live TV?

Shocking choices for the 3rd round FA Cup to be honest. No one cares about Notts Forest Arsenal, Manchester United Aston Villa.

How about put better ones on like this below.

Spurs Morecambe?

Chelsea Chesterfield?

Luton Harrogate?

Port Vale Brentford?

Maybe Newcastle Cambridge?

Maybe Mansfield Boro?

Why two games from Premier League is so important to show it on tv? Very weird. 🤷‍♂️ I understand Swindon Manchester City no problem.

Between 2005 - 2017 Man U had 58 televised FA cup ties in a row.
So Man U will get untold millions from this and they don't even lose any crowd revenue as don't you have to agree to buy a ticket for every home cup game if you are a season ticket holder (or am I just believing an urban myth)?

I think it's great that it's on ITV and BBC. Gives those of us who don't have sky the chance to see a live game. Personally I'd rather see Man Utd Villa than Man Utd some non league team. These games usually end up Def Vs attack and are about as interesting to watch as when England are playing some no mark team.

Besides which the BBC have a hostile government, a hostile public and subscription services to fend off. They need to show things that have an audience. They can't spend taxpayers on the fa cup if they're showing games only two blokes and a dog watch.

In the first two rounds ITV/BBC have shown some great ties. Sudbury, Stockport, St Albans, That's why I was so disappointed to see their uninspiring choice of live games for R3.

I don't really have much issue with the choices, to be honest, there aren't many eye catching ties this year.

Tottenham v Morecombe is the only one that's not televised that I think should be.

Maybe Kidderminster Harriers v Reading too, but I do think they'll weigh up the potential TV audience.
Neither team has a large fanbase and it's not something I'd be too interested in as a neutral, though I'd obviously be rooting for Kidderminster.
