F1 2021 new car launches

Think it just shows how much they need his dads money and how much influence they will have on the team.
Yeah thats true. They have always been the poorest team, getting ferrari staff on loan because they don't have enough. Hence why they haven't been able to fire up their engine. Factory is in the UK and engineers are in modena

As the article mentions when F1 goes down the biofuel route it's a given that the VW group will enter the fold.
F1 needs manufacturers and works teams. For comparison British Touring Cars nearly died when all the big manufacturers left leaving only Honda and independent teams running year old cars. Luckily the organisers saw the problems, rejigged the rules and now the BTCC has loads of different cars and manufacturers involved. Quite often see grids of 26-28 cars.

If F1 changed the fuel rules, engine rules and on race day of it dishes out points all the way down the field instead of just the top ten then we would definitely see a better series of racing.

It’s a shame they will come in as an OEM not a full works team, I think F1 needs two more full works teams on the grid. And I agree points all the way down to the rsend so that you’re effectively running three competitions in one, bit like the PL

Agree with the works team element. Although last year was odd as the works teams finished, I think, 1st, 4th and 5th?

It's odd how manufacturers are putting their names to cars and not actually owning the teams these days. Remember the year we had Lotus and Lotus?

Loads of AMG branding and only one small Mercedes logo. The McLaren doesn't appear to have a Mercedes logo at all. Strange.

Has the "Aston " been released yet? Everyone is assuming it'll be Green not Pink I guess
Mercedes only own a third of the F1 team now, so I guess 66% of the ownership (INEOS and Wolff) want people paying for advert space

That's true. So who DO We have as works teams. Ferrari obviously. Is Renault the parent company of Alpine?

I'm not sure you know. With a move to biofuels VW would be crazy not to have a works team, would go some way to restoring good faith in the brand after the 'diesel gate' issues.

@SmallTown apparently that green branding on the Ferrari is only that colour for three races is what I've read on Twitter. Of course that could be untrue.

I hope so, the "dark" cigarette advertising is such a weird thing in F1. It makes this car look so ugly too

Watching pre season testing

redbull look to be strong

Danny ric looking back to his best in a car he trusts.

Alonso currently second which is a miracle given the year he’s had.

still some issues for the Mercs

I wonder if the organisers considered the possibility of sandstorms?

They did. They have especially grippy concrete there (from Doncaster or somewhere. They made a big thing of it) They know the track is susceptible to sandstorms so have tried to mitigate it
