It’s strange how the public view The Suffragettes through rose coloured glasses for what they achieved.
Most (in todays world) would have had them locked up.
Some of their activities make extinction rebellion look like angels.

Good point. In the period 1912-14 the Suffragettes embarked on an escalating campaign of violence and disruption which was only halted with the outbreak of war. They used the tactics of "Terrorism" including IEDs, Arson, letter bombs and even attempted assassinations. 5 died including a Suffragette many more were injured.
