Excellent Burnley, or poor rest of the league?

This Burnley team has been tremendously consistent because they have many game-changing players. I think that's where our recent form stems from as well. You can try and stop one, but there's others who'll benefit from the extra space afforded by those tactics.

But we didn’t, so they are over the season
I’m terms of points obviously they are. Since carrick took over there a point below us. In April if we’re still playing like we are which we will be, it’ll be a very close game. I think we’re very even at present you not think

Based on what I saw in their match against Watford I would say we are a bit better than them at present. But one match can be misleading.

Wae gave their winger too much space on the second half. He's probably the best in the league and he was allowed to go 1 on 1 with Giles. Put 2 Boro players on him and we could have cut out 2 of their goals.

We also missed a pen, which I can never forgive.

They are head and shoulders above us.

They were head and shoulders above us.

They have been head and shoulders above us.

Right now, they are in terms of points total but not in terms of form or style of play.

So you could argue either really, it's semantics.

If someone says to me a team IS head and shoulders above boro. I tend to think of it in the present, as in how would we match up if we played tomorrow. I don't think Burnley would batter us right now and the form table suggests as much so I'm going to say they aren't head and shoulders above us in the present.

If you said they're miles ahead of us, I'd agree because it's language that seems to better direct towards a points total and the league table.

Hope it's a good game when we play them and lads want to make a statement about where we were before and where we are now.

Kompany seems to have quite a similar demeanor/attitude to Carrick (although easy to be like that when you're flying I suppose).

I remember when Sheff United beat them and he was very calm about it, very much "we knew we'd have games like that every now and then, important thing is how we respond".

Compare it to Sheff United's moaning and mini meltdown.

As with Carrick probably helps a bit when you've had a stellar playing career. Nothing to prove etc.
Agree, kompany is a calm chap too, not sure he is as genuinely calm inside as Carrick but he’s doing a great job with them. I do think the league is a weak one rather than Burnley being amazing. They looked band average versus Watford last week and gave me a lot of hope.

Our belief has grown significantly since we played them at their place and I think we’ll beat them here. No doubt. 2-0

I actually think we’ll run them close for the title but will just come up short in the last few games….

Burnleys success has come from astute acquisitions of which there have been many.

Their key players, the game changers, are Nathan Tella and Annas Zaroury two wide men who are fast and direct. Coupled with a good left wing back in Ian Maatsen, two experienced mids in Cullen and Gudmundsson plus a solid back line and they are promotion bound.
