Everton fans gutted surely at appointment ?

The problem with Allardyce is that he's not likeable. I always think a lot is down to perception as much as facts with football fans. For all some on here don't like Dyche, he's actually quite an amusing guy and will show a bit of passion. That may offset concerns over style for a while.
I see SD as a fairly bland and evasive character but thats just my perception and big Sam and much more likeable. SD's burnley team had no style of play other than 'break up the opposition play at all costs' and get the ball forward (somehow) and try to (somehow) score off your backside, shoulder, lower back...basically, anywhere but just get me a scruffy goal so we can defend like hell.....and go away with a win...and the scruffiest performance ever.
I literally couldn't watch them play if in a live game...i'd just switch it over. Big Sam had sunderland playing really well before he left for England....Big Sam for me is streets ahead of SD in terms of his experience and tactical flexibility.
SD is a one club wonder...let's see how long it is before he either does ok or starts to get pelters.

I'm not doubting Allardyce's ability but I disagree about their personality. Allardyce comes across as capable but arrogant, Dyche can be quite entertaining at press conferences in a dry sort of way and is happy to talk about all sorts. You certainly can't dismiss him as a one club wonder without seeing how things unfold at Everton. I'd imagine they'll get a lot more solid and steadily improve
