He'll be ousted carrying all the blame for the Tories disastrous government, and a new Knight in shining armour will be unveiled to steer the country towards the sunlit uplands of Britains post Brexit Utopia.

First, it is not a "new virus" It is a mutation. Mutations are common. Will it be infectious? More virulent? We'll find out.

It is worth bearing in mind though that this mutation has been seen in other european countries (Denmark, Netherlands etc - see Prof. Balloux for info). It is not solely confined to the UK. In the UK however we do lots of genomic sequencing that other countries do not.

Yet countries are now clambering to close borders when they already have such a mutation.

We have a health secretary who shouts that we have lost control of the virus and places London under further restrictions. He is then surprised that people are leaving London before midnight. Fool.

All of these things are being done without parliamentary scrutiny. The government is far more dangerous than the virus.

Chris Whitty said in one of his Gresham lectures that "pandemics cause panic" - He certainly got that right! PANIC!
 
Apparently infections in London due to the new mutation of the virus increased from 10 to 15% to 60% of all cases in a week. With cases also doubling in a week, 88 cases of the old strain led to 80 cases a week later; 12 cases of the new strain led to 120 cases a week later. That is a frightening increase.

Looks like Johnson's cull will end up with over 100,000 deaths at this rate. Letting jam packed trains leave London for the North on Saturday was criminal
 
His own MP's really have no choice. Their own days will be numbered if they stand behind his incompetent leadership. He is an out of control shambles wrecking everyone and everything he touches. Time he went back hiding in that fridge. Total f wit. Hard to believe some folk were taken in by his bus load of bull splatter.

Sadly, I think the final toll will be much bigger than 100,000 deaths in the UK.
