I take some comfort that this has happened on a match day. Like Fabrice Muamba's case, the defibrillator and CPR are immediately available, which gives him the best chance.

Sounds like hes gone into cardiac arrest if they're using de fib.
You wouldn't think it but it happens a lot more in sport than people think.
When I did my first aid when I was going for my FA badges it was all about treating cardiac arrests.
Hopefully he will pull through this.
His poor wife & family must be going through hell.
