That was going to be my question, never heard of him, what type of music?
He'd been in the Gibsons then went solo - this was late 70s/early 80s. He was mainly an Elvis tribute iirc - I was only a young lad at the time. Played the northern club circuit.

Although occasionally wrongly labelled by local promoters as 'The Family' Roger Chapman's band were called 'Family' not 'The Family'. I think The Family were a middle of the road pop band of the time playing the cabaret/nightclub circuit. In 1968 Family were more likely to play places like Redcar Jazz Club or the Kirk, not the Marimba I'd have thought. It's not listed here in their 1968 gig list: https://www.familybandstand.com/holding-the-compass/1968-2/ . You can see there that Family did play on Teesside in 1968 but at the “Tees Pop ‘68” Pop Festival, Trunk Rd. Recreation Ground Eston with Traffic The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, Ben E. King, The Alan Bown!, The Amboy Dukes, The Fantastics, Joe Cocker, The Tramline, Chelfont Line, and Rivers Invitation on a bill compered by Long John Baldry
