Enjoyed this bit from the gazette, so true regards Preston

It's quite remarkable how Wilder has transformed this team and has them playing in his image after just seven games. Only one of those games has ended in defeat, and how Preston left the Riverside with all three still staggers. Boro have now kept four clean sheets in a row, are unbeaten in five and have moved into the top six.

I agree on the good fortune, but at least we're not serving up chances for the opposition and aiding them to win. Makes a huge difference.

There were times earlier this season when our defence looked like that round thing was spoiling their walk on a grassy field.

We are certainly miles better. That said, Bournemouth and Forest both missed astonishing chances (thankfully)! I'm not saying that we didn't deserve to win against them both... just that there was some fortune in our clean sheets!
Especially Bournemouth, good fortune meant they arrived at the boro lacking confidence after a poor run and it showed in how they missed their chances.
We did better against forest and as holgate points out, we should’ve been 4-0 up before their chances.
That’s where we will grow in confidence if we can keep those clean sheets and score ourselves and begin to snuff out opposition chances to half chances instead of gilt edged chances
Let’s see this on Wednesday at Blackpool !!!

Thought Swansea missed better chances than Bournemouth. Can only think of one really clear cut chance that Bournemouth passed up

And I think with confidence growing, so will more of those chances being converted as people will start to make those forward runs, the mental barriers will come down and players will gamble more on getting into the box.

I think Bournemouth missed three big 'should score' chances in the first half. Second half we bossed it.

I wasn't criticising our team. More saying that I don't think we're the finished article defensively yet.

From what I have seen a we are a goalscorer away from going up, I have no doubts about playoff positions now a few of those up there will fall away im sure. Roll on January hope we get a finisher in

We haven’t missed many then?

Agree with this, but as they say luck evens itself out. We had that, and finally a ref who was half decent.

We have missed a truckload. We always do!! I was mentioning it, because we can't rely on the oppo to miss sitters for us to keep clean sheets. I still think there's a bit of defensive tightening to be done.

We also missed a few chances v Preston to put the game to bed in our only defeat under CW
