Enjoyed the game

I hope someone comes in for Berge as they'll be right up there if he stays. He is exactly what we need but he's probably too good for the Championship.
 
Agree, thought it was a good game and the 2 goals we conceded were very poor from a defensive POV.

The one blight so far is Lenihan. He's not impressed me at all. He's very rash at jumping out from defence, leaving mountains of space in behind. A couple of times yesterday he left space in which a better ball by Sheff Utd and they'd have had a 1v1 a few times.

His passing is quite good mind.

To be fair to the lad he hasn't played in a settled back 3. He looked like a fish up tree playing LCB so he has to play central of the 3 for me. WIth Paddy/Dijk RCB and A N Other/Bola as LCB hopefully we will see him kick on a few levels as he doesn't seem an improvement on Fry at present.

Agree with his position being CCB or nothing, however a couple of these instances happened in the second half when he was playing CCB.

He did the same against West Brom too....which actually cost us the goal and 2 points.

He needs to cut it out.

We need to sort the back 3 out, it’s not looking comfortable at the moment. Thought Mowatt improved us in the second half and calmed us down, fully expect him to start at Stoke. Akpom is like a changed man, buzzing for him today and he deserved his reception at the end. Hope he didn’t go off with anything serious as he’s our best bet upfront at the moment. Well done Boro, good result and done well to get back into the game twice.

Yeh I really enjoyed it. Ultimately football is about entertainmment and that was it for sure, I was absorbed all game. Shame we diddnt score at the end as that would have rounded it off nicely.
 
It was a good afternoon. I also thought Mowatt was positive in possession and everyone worked hard throughout. I was surpised at how much time Howson had on the ball at times - I imagine that will be different in future games. I think Watmore hit the post in the second half but I couldn't see clearly. Amazing turn of pace from Jones in first-half when he flew past Norringto-Davies (I think) before being fouled.

Watmore definitely hit the post in the second half.
 
Doesn’t get a mention above so I’ll say Giles impressed me too, a few decent crosses and better placed corners than I’ve seen at the riverside for a long time.

They were bullying us at their corners and set pieces, I just wish we would give it back to teams like that, constantly push players out of the way etc, let's get at their concentration levels, it's no wonder our goalies make mistakes at set pieces because the other team are dominant in our penalty area.

We missed crooks height and strength on set plays. But that corner routine for the goal wa well worked.
