England have never played Senegal before

I wonder which other major ( as in they have reached world cups etc) nations that we have never played.

The surprising one for me is that we've never played Serbia, though I suppose the fact they're a relatively new FIFA member will be why with that.

We've played Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro before, just never Serbia alone.

That is surprising given their in uefa but more down to them being a relatively newly formed country. As in we played Yugoslavia before.

That said we’ve played Macedonia loads of times.

You don't play that many games in International football and teams like England will arrange friendlies against more competitive teams which means our opportunities to play some countries are limited to luck of the draw at a World Cup or qualifying.

Serbia have only been playing independently for 16 years. That's only 8 opportunities to be in the same group and a 1 in 10 chance each time.

I would guess Africa's alternative schedule means they play Internationals at times of the year when Europeans don't so the opportunity for friendlies is quite low.
