England: Cardiff or Eindhoven?

I don't know why, but in 2004, as we progressed through the rounds I just had that feeling. I was lucky enough to get a ticket and even in the stadium, I was calm. I just felt it was gonna go in our favour.

The Road to Eindhoven, it just seemed as if it had to be our name on the cup - our progress was so improbable. But it wasn't: we were outclassed, humiliated almost.

Which is it this time. I wonder?

It will depend on the key moments in the game.

Cardiff, our pen should have been chalked off for the double touch.

Eindhoven, not Rotterdam by the way, we should have had a penalty.

The games could have been very different.

Of course. Before tonight I was thinking that even if we won a (ahem) Eindhoven outcome was possible. But even though Spain have been irresistible so far, I'm not sure they're the finished article. Rodri is majestic, Lamal a future star, but they can be got at.

It does feel a bit like our run with a bit of luck and tight finishes to games but hopefully ends differently

We have had all the moments for a great documentary in years to come.

Chapter 1 - The expectation, the star players - a nation finally expects.
Chapter 2 - we limp through game one, questions asked
Chapter 3 - It turns sour, the fans are booing despite progressing through the group. pundits, fans demand change. disconnect between the team and fans, it feels like old times.
Chapter 4 - Slovakia, painful, atmospheric scene, sat in disbelief as we are heading out in the round of 16 against an average Slovakia - the titanic music kicks in and bang, overhead kick - jubilant scenes. A team united - dare we believe again?
Chapter 5 - England do what England normally don't, win a shootout, scoring all 5 penalties. Another semi final - are the stars aligning?
Chapter 6 - A semi final, a better performance, the team clicks, we ride the storm, Southgate makes his changes - we still believe echos in the background, palmer to watkins - goaaalllllllllll
Chapter 7 - TBC

It feels like its our time, but we all know a sad ending is just as likely. Especially as England and Boro fans

:) Ever thought of a job in TV?

Although Seville were the better team, it was 1-0 for a long time. We went gung ho again, but it didn't work and we then got battered. If we had got the penalty it might, just might, have been different.
