Which is ok in agame where you have 79% possession, when it's 50-50 or even 45-55 against, he's a liability. He's not the best defensive RB out there....but there's no one better at RB in the world at going forward.

Trent had players to hit last night that were running from deep, same against rep of Ireland. (didn't happen in the Euros)He's also done this against better class opponents too....whilst at Liverpool when winning the biggest prizes on offer...

And we've not got a better RB available...
We'd be mad not to utilise him.
I'm actually concerned that Rice is the problem, and if he is, we've got a huge hole in our side. Rice does ok in possession and going foraward, but he doesn't cover the ground quick enough when we lose the ball and they counter. That was my concern, I'm hoping Carsley will stiffen up the middle of the park against better opposition...
Over the years we have watched England managers try and shoe horn the best players into the team which has left it unbalanced, Carsley has to be brave and pick the players that fit the system and make the team function better, it's an incredibly difficult position because the press will hound him if he leaves a big name out.
Southgate played Foden on the left, with a right footed left back an out of form Bellingham and a knackered Kane..
Rice usually just sits in for England, but with Carsley (go out and express yourself) Rice has been caught too far forward the last 2 games a few times, but I think he is one of them players who has the experience now at international level and Carsley has to have a clear plan for him against better opposition..I'm actually concerned that Rice is the problem, and if he is, we've got a huge hole in our side. I thought Angel had a very promising game mind, in and out of possession
Rice is clearly a very good player, but I say to my arsenal fan daughter (she says she'll be boro if we play each other), he's good at everything but exceptional at nothing and if you are an international defensive midfielder you need to be exceptional at pressuring the ball and blocking the passing lanes and he just isn't.Rice usually just sits in for England, but with Carsley (go out and express yourself) Rice has been caught too far forward the last 2 games a few times, but I think he is one of them players who has the experience now at international level and Carsley has to have a clear plan for him against better opposition..
Angel was excellent, very busy always wanting to get on the ball..
That must have taken some time searching to come up with.

Another hat trick for the "finished" Kane today.
