Recently watched the Morse series again in total. Just superb and doesn’t date. There is an air of melancholy that runs throughout that I didn’t appreciate until this watching. Note the episode filmed in Australia particularly the ending of that episode. It kind of sums up for me the sadness in Morse’s life.

I saw it that he pulled the gun away at the last minute. Clearly he survives. It was perhaps the most clunky moment of a pretty faultless episode.

Yes and I think Endeavour is a fitting prequel with the backstory to his melancholy in Morse And also his frustration with life
and fellow people.

This last Endeavour series has been a good wrap up. With it it has reached 35 episodes which has out numbered now the Morse episodes which were 33.

I liked the way they ensured that it would be credible that Morse would never mention a Fred Thursday in the entire Morse series. it is easy to find plot holes marrying the two up but it didn’t matter.
