End of Boro paper matchday programme

That is indeed what happened. Good new print copies are back, limited to 250 per game

That is really good. From conversation with the club they were gutted at having to stop the print - do you think someone has approached them with a print on demand option possibly. You can do that with self-published books etc.

Does anyone know when tomorrow's programme will be available? I've noticed sometimes they are available the day before a game.

So it looks like downloading is no longer an option. You can read it online and/or buy a paper copy, but you can't download it.

Wasn't there a time in the dark days of the 80's when the club stopped doing a traditional A5 sized programme.

There was a some kind of alternative produced, not sure by who, possibly the Gazette which was a A3 sized newspaper kind of thing. I'm pretty sure I still have a few kicking around in the loft.

They did a few smaller ones including a fold out one at the end of the 82-83 season. At the end of the 84 84 season they did 6 newspaper type programmes, Boro Fanfare

The lineups were often wrong though! But yeah, it was because of that.

Symptom of changing times. I loved getting them as a kid as they were the only souvenir you'd have of a match, but now people take photographs and everything without even thinking. I bet I haven't bought one in twenty years, and pretty sure the last time I did it was basically full of adverts. I won't miss them per se, but I do miss collecting them as a kid!

Actually I used to always wonder how the team sheets used to get leaked in advance on here, suppose it was easy for someone who was getting access to it via the program printing

There were 6 of these issued, I'm missing No1, before each game, think you picked em up when buying the EG but I seem to recall they were handed out outside AP
Steve Spriggs who played 3 games for the Boro in late 87 is shown in the bottom supplement
