I need a new electric razor.
Braun 9 series £300 non-starter.
Braun 5 series, had one patchy shave (sent it back) non-starter.
I don't shave more than once or twice a week. Do you have any recommendations?
Grow a beard non-starter.
Wet shave is possible but electric can be handy.

I found using an electric shaver handy when I worked in the school and would shave every morning. It was time saving and always left me with a clean feeling. I have recently had a couple of wet shaves but tend to come out in a rash flicking from one to another.

I have used a Braun shaver but it is coming to the end of its life and I would be interested to see the replies on this.

Philips one blade been using one for years now quick and easy not as expensive as when first hit the market and replacement blades don't break the bank either.

Turkish barbers would do the ss German thing?
Why are there so many Turkish barbers, is it a way of getting in as a profession?

It doesn't take long to train in basic trims and can build up from there. Costs are low just rent and rates. Hardly need to advertise.

While I'm sure there are some money laundering, was always a queue at the ones near me. Skins & needles do pretty much the same thing - own tons of barbers around the area as well under different names

American sweet shops on the other hand...

Avoid spending EV style money on fancy electric shavers. Choose yourself the best disposable on colour and feel alone. Then construct a simple vice style holder and connect firmly to the bathroom wall so it comes out at face height. Place razor in this. Here's the clever bit, get a cheapo body vibraplate from argos and place under your construction so when you stand on it you can connect your face to the razor. Simply switch on the vibraplate and move your face around the fixed razor. Perfect shave, plus you might lose a fraction of a pound what with all the shaking and that.

I just bought a Braun xt5 £34 for the days I fall asleep on the settee instead of going in the shower for a wet shave . Il use the best that man can get most of the time .

Always a single blade razor shaver myself, but recently bought a Braun series 7, so switch between the two. Obviously the single blade is a much better shave, but the convenience of a quick rub round with the electric is handy. Out in Lanza at the moment and only have the blades here but not noticing a big inconvenience. I think the electric shavers are better than years ago, but maybe that’s because mine is still new.

Electric shavers are never going to get that ultra close shave. It's not great putting aftershave balm on and feeling the job wasn't properly done. A good quality safety razor will suffice for most people. If you shave against the grain as well on properly prepared skin, most people will get a decent shave.

Panasonic Arc 5. My beard grows like a mutha fukka, it’s as smooth as silk after a shave with that.
