Eight weeks in jail for telling the truth

I believe that's called game, set, match.
I think not. I've seen a local Tory and freemason protected against being incarcerated by a senior judge of the day, Lord Hailsham. It can be found in Hansard and was reported at the time by the Guardian. Multiple counts of rape and abuse of children and adults, both male and female.

What wasnt the "truth"?
I edited my post to add belief before I saw your reply.
It may be you were making a general point, I was referring to the making of the comments the chap made which were found to be in contempt.

I think the facts are we are on the road to making our grandkids lives a living hell
Without wishing to be party political the number of homes insulated each year has declined dramatically therefore that was his motivation to act in the way that he did.
He has been found guilty due to the change in the law and will be sentenced for that. It was petty of the judge to add 8 weeks to his sentence.
We can now protest against that change.
What do we do if the judge tells us we can't use the fact that the new laws are evil and draconian as a reason for our protest.

The judge reduced his sentence by a third because he pleaded guilty.

The 8 weeks was a separate issue because of contempt.
