Eid Mubarak

This thread is brilliant.

I get it Osboro. We all get upset and want to lash out with crazy incendiary comments from time to time.

Just look after yourself and hopefully you'll find happier times

or d!ckheads, especially those d!ckheads worshipping a bigger d!ckhead, the one that lives in the sky.
you know the one, he's got a list of childhood leukaemia victims to tick off and a map to decide where the next bombs will drop.
sorry don't do the happy clappy bits of organised religion but not the really difficult questions too.
So much anger. I was once an angry man lashing out over perceived slights then I realised the only person I was punishing was myself. My BP would hit the roof and I was heading for a stroke. So I realised I had to change. Anger is corrosive. It is like cancer and will kill in the end. I will pray for you even though you will probably call me a d*ckhead for doing so. I still wish you well bro and stay safe in these dark times.

Happy Eid!

Our family will be enjoying a wonderful celebration today with the most amazing food too. And after a month free from alcohol I will be enjoying a nice glass of wine or two this evening.

Selamat Hari Raya!

We allow our children to ride a bike knowing at some point they will fall off and hurt themselves. Perhaps God allows life to flow as humans choose with little interference in much the same way.

MUTED EID CELEBRATIONS AS LEADERS URGE CAUTION

MIDDLESBROUGH'S Muslim community leaders have reminded the public to enjoy Eid safely and responsibly.

Advice has been issued to follow current Government guidance around social distancing, maintaining small groups, hand sanitising and making sure people organise their vaccine as soon as they are eligible.

Eid, taking place tomorrow and also called Eid Al-Fitr, is the celebration to mark the feast of the breaking of the fast of the month of Ramadan.

Mohammed Asif, Chairman of Al Mustafa Centre & Covid Community Champion, said: "All the local mosques are consistent with their messaging that we are not out of woods with this virus. We'll keep Eid celebrations a muted affair to ensure that we play our role with a sense of responsibility.

"Mosques are putting on additional Eid congregation prayers to accommodate smaller groups and enable social distancing. Working with local partners we've ensured that hand sanitisation and face covering are available to all during the congregation prayers inside the mosques."

Gohar Ihsan, Chairperson of Middlesbrough Central Mosque, said: "Normally we have a mass gathering for Eid prayers, however we've made the decision to facilitate smaller socially distanced and Covid secure prayer gatherings at the Mosque.

"We are thankful to Age UK (Teesside) for sharing some of their surplus PPE supplies to ensure we can keep our congregation members safe.

"The collaboration and partnership working between local public and voluntary organisations has been amazing during the pandemic. We aim to build on this and take some positives out of what's been a very difficult period for us all."

Adalat Khan, Chairman of Radio Ramadan, added: "Throughout the holy Month of Ramadan, our messages on Radio Ramadan has been to encourage the community members to adhere to the government guidance regarding social distancing and face coverage and make vaccination a priority especially for those clinically vulnerable.

"Please continue to support the national effort, keep social mixing to the minimum. Let's get through this critical phase in the road map with so we can safely get back to some normality."

Eid Mubarak to anyone celebrating today.
My apologies dnh81. I miss read your acclamation as a question.
I did get out of the wrong side of the bed due to reasons I won't comment on and for this and my rudeness I apologise.
Apologies also to those who I responded to badly for calling me up on my bad manners.
Sorry , but no apologies to those who attributed things to me that I didn't say ( god, a magician? Wtf)
My point about " respect" is based on the fact that belittling someones belief in a " God" is seen as disrespectful but belittling some ones disbelief in a supreme being is seen as perfectly OK.

Here's to a cracking Pentecost, knock yourselves out.

I took no offence.

I myself am CoE baptised and dont follow a religion and dont believe in a god.

That said I want to live in a world where everyone can get along, and everyone has a right to practice their own religion if they please.

The more we understand about our friends around the world the more the world will be a better place.

All religions / ethnicities have extremists and bad people but as society we shouldn't paint any one person by those minorities.

I have been all around the world and found that the vast majority of people want the same things. Food, Shelter, Health, Happiness.

Western Society has been well drilled to make us feel an air of superiority over other parts of the world.

I appreciate you came back to this thread and apologised, it takes a lot for people to do that!

No, if it's something to do with the stupidity of religion based on a Diety, then , the less medieval religious nonsense the better.
Complete bloody nonsense used to control fearful weak minded people.
yeah but i got five days off so its ok... Eid Mubarak from UAE 🤲

Eid Mubarak to my Muslim brothers and sisters today. I am Christian but wish for peace for all, irrespective of religion or creed. There is far too much hurt and pain in this world. I have never been hurt by any Muslims. I have Muslim friends. I do not agree with radical Islam or radical Christianity.
Spot on buddy(y)

Eid Mubarak ["Blessed Festival"] to our fellow human beings in Gaza and around the world.

Whilst the bombs murder innocent men women and children and armed soldiers attack mosques and churches.
Men find a way to pray for peace amidst the ruins of their homes

You can destroy life,
But you can never destroy Faith.

Insha`Allah ["God speed"].

Had my first proper family Eid on Thursday, and I can only speak for my family, but anyone who's had a family Christmas would largely recognise the day as being pretty similar.
Without the pigs in blankets I presume?

Yeah, decided to give them a miss, I'll save them for December. :)

Although they are a good example of something we were talking about at dinner - things that you only really ever have on the celebration in question (seviyan being the thing we were eating at the time).
