Durham coal mines to reopen

I wonder how many of them are completely submerged. Getting inside to reach the seams would be incredibly dangerous and hugely expensive.
 
I guess they would have to sink new shafts? I’d be in favour of it, over imported coal. But. And it’s a big but. Wind power off our shores has to be a better solution.

Durham miners will love this. I mean most will be in their 70s now I would guess? They will love going back down the pit.

He won with 16% of the voters eligible to take part. Council elections are ideal for protests. I assume most people in Anfield Plain had never hear of him but wanted to put across an x against the Reform candidate and weren’t bothered who they were choosing to represent them.
 
Some coal production would be useful in the UK for the Scunthorpe Steel Mills. I would have approved the Whitehaven Mine as a one off.

Scunthorpe needs some coking coal and in times of war its very useful to have it in the same country.
