We have an interview with Dr Judith Gates wife of former Boro centre back Bill Gates and founder of Head for Change charity in the next fanzine. I heard Dr Gates speaking recently at an MFC Foundation Memory Box event and thought I must ask her about the charity and CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy) and the risks that footballers undergo from heading a ball. I wanted to ask if the risks were reduced with modern balls or was this a fallacy. Head for Change advocate change but being part of the solution themselves. Everything is based on scientific study. But some of the stories Judith told me a really harrowing and illustrate what a harrowing and appalling outcome can result from CTE.
