Double Maxim isn't brewed by Vaux (Whitbread, the new Vaux Brewery has nothing to do with the original company) anymore.

Former Vaux employers bought the rights to the name and now produce it themselves as Maxim Brewery.

Always preferred DM to NBA, personally.

I was in America on business in the late 90’s - in a dry state.
The local guys took me to a sports bar as it was the only place you were allowed alcohol.
I got to the bar and asked what beer they have
‘oh we have blah, blah blah and…….. draught Newcastle brown ale from England’
