Double Edge Shaving

I have an electric razor clipper thing and attack my face with it around once a week. I once shaved all the hair off my face and was horrified by the results so I always like to have a certain amount of wispy bumfluff present. There are some twelve year olds who can grow better beards than me.

Started with a Merkur 34C Heavy Duty Safety Razor a couple of years back and it's largely been ok. Had experimented with a cut-throat for a few weeks which, while gaving a better shave, cut me far too often. Have now discovered that the best combo is a once-over with a safety razor followed by another once-over with a cheapo three blade disposable from Aldi. Works a treat - better than twice with the safety. The cheapo seems to get to places the safety missed. As TheFair said, shaving is a very person affair that will vary greatly from person to person.

Should be like this, if it is and you are just moving soap around then you haven’t put a blade in 😂science can’t be defeated! It’s a razor edge being dragged through hair - done right it will cut

There's definitely a blade in :)

I've varied the angle to determine the effect and when I get it right it does shave but not closer than a disposable.

Use an Edwin Jagger Bulbous with Feather Blades and recently forgot to pack it when visiting brother in the big smoke. He loaned me his Bulldog Bamboo razor with a fresh cassette of '5 blades' before we ventured out for the night. Jesus it was hard work - it did shave but seemed to need 3-4 passes and any recessed hair or near nostrils was a sod to cut. It did pivot but not well and seemed to scrape rather than cut, afterwards my face was sore and still a bit prickly where not a perfect surface.

Sod that many bladed nonsense for a lark
