The older you get you start to see how great artists from the 50's and 60's start to get more and more obscure in terms of media coverage

He ***** over any modern artist imho and i'm still in my 40's so its not a generational thing

Just a kid when he died, with that catalogue behnd him, a truely one off remarkabe talent

When he was on tour with Sam Cooke he slept on the tour bus with Sam rather than stay in comfort in a hotel - because racist America wouldn't let Sam in.

I remember he and his band turned up at a theatre in Harlam and the audience were shocked when he came on stage as they thought he was black after listening to his songs and not seeing any photos/videos etc. After the initial shock a good night was had by all.
