Donald Trump

Dont believe for a second he had anything wrong with him, but if he actually did have it he has set a great example with his "quarantine", when people see their president behave like that when he is meant to be isolating, will anyone actually bother themselves?

Trump isn’t out if the woods yet.....if he did indeed have the virus.

There are some that think the whole shenannigan is even fake news.

Trump was embarassing at that last encounter with Biden.
So much so that his advisers could have concocted this up to keep him out of further televised debates.

He certainly is no actor, and to be truthful he doesn’t look or sound any different from a fortnight ago.

If Obama, Bush Jr, Clinton, Bush Snr, Reagan, Carter, Ford even Nixon had announced they had Covid I don't think anyone would have given it a second thought whether they had or not.

Same with Theresa May, Cameron, Brown, Blair, Major Thatcher, Callahan.

We might have wondered if an illness was being covered up.

It's a sad indictment of Trump and Johnson that so many people have so many doubts.

Corbyn would have been a great PM. It was ridiculous in December when people were trying to claim he was a worse/as bad option as Boris even given what we knew then. Just looks embarrassing now.

I'm not sure he demonstrated enough competence and judgement to be able to say Corbyn would have been a great PM, though he would certainly have been in charge of a better government than Johnson and the collection of nasty yes men buffoons he has surrounded himself with.

Yeah in fairness it'd have still been him and the 20 odd Labour MPs who aren't complete tossers having their manifesto voted down by the rest of the PLP so I doubt he'd have achieved much.

But on the flip side the bar for what I'd class as a great PM is so low he could barely fail.

The clip is full of signifiers for his base. The removal and treatment of the mask, I don't need this, and neither do you action, crumpled up and stuffed distainfully in his pocket.
The adoption of the Mussolini stance, followed by almost Messianic statements about beating the plague in 5 days as though it was the work of God. If you follow me, for only you see the truth, you too can be blessed with this ability to survive.
More Panto than Pinter.

If he has had it, it is possible that the drugs he has been given have given him a misleading temporary boost. A lot of people have found recovery from this to be a long job. Also, how bad you get it often depends on the amount of the virus you are exposed to. If he is wandering around lots of people who have been similarly lackadaisical with their precautions in environments riven with it, he might well be crowing a tad too soon.

It kind of has that Fawlty Towers feel. The episode where Basil discharges himself from hospital against orders only to cause chaos back at the hotel in his madness. I’m half expecting Donnie to start up the German silly walk at the next TV debate.

Thought steroids take about 5 days to fully get up to speed in your system when you first get them. That's what I was told when given them for asthma. That was a few years ago how er. Maybe they are different now.

From the Guardian:

"Remdesivir, made by the US company Gilead, is one of only two drugs proven to work against Covid-19. It has been shown to help patients recover faster from the disease and shorten the length of hospital treatment but is not a cure.
Unlike the steroid dexamethasone, which saves lives and is widely available and cheap because it is an old drug, remdesivir is under patent, which means no other company can make it without Gilead’s permission."

Dexamethasone is used by climbers on Everest with cerebral odema at very high altitudes. I presume it's fairly fast acting to be of any use.
