Regarding Musk, can anyone explain why Tesla is worth more than all the North American car companies combined despite only making up about 5% of car sales in the USA & Canada?

Or why, despite billions of dollars from the US Government, SpaceX hasn't managed to get Starship all the way into orbit, never mind to the moon and back? Mars? Laughable.

What's going on? Just why is Elon Musk so rich and powerful?

The future of cars is self driving EV's, and Tesla is several years advanced on most other companies in this area. In particular Tesla cars record every journey and send it back to train their AI systems. So they have truly vast amounts of real world driving data which is incredibly valuable when trying to train auto driving cars.

They don't use LIDAR technology though which makes them vulnerable if law makers deem this is essential. If only they had someone who could influence government policy to ensure this is not a requirement...
 
As suggested on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the Palestinians should just announce they're going to take ownership of Mar-a-Lago (using Palestinian troops, if necessary) and relocate the occupants elsewhere.

NOt saying it's better no, but to suggest Tesla is that advanced is simply incorrect. My Polestar has about all the functionality my Tesla had excpet auto lane change (which is moot as it's illegal in the EU and UK). I am CERTAINLY saying the latter. Tesla FSD is way off being capable
 
The share price is based on future earnings. FSD might be terrible now but if it is better than the rest and they have more data than competitors with which to improve it further, then the share price will be elevated as a result.

Yes but my point is why would you think that something is similar to the rest s going to be better. There is no physical proof that Tesla are going to be world leading in this field because they aren't at the moment despite trying harder than any other pure car company. Throw in to that mix an inability to make the actual product (cars) as good as their rivals and the inherent instability in their leadership and it's not likely they will lead the way is it?

I agree. I am not saying the share price is correct, I am explaining some of the reasons why the market values it so highly.

Ethnic cleansing is the euphemism used for broader acts of genocide that involve the forced deportation of a people. The USA was founded and created primarily on their extermination. It was founded and created through genocide in sensu stricto.

Personally, I would prefer to use the bald term rather than the euphemism even for what Trump is proposing for Gaza. But the euphemism is certainly inappropriate for what happened in North America in the 19th century.
 
After the US have withdrawn from the United Nations Human Rights Council, Israel have now followed in their footsteps, which speaks volumes.
