Donald Trump...

So, let's sum up. Trump is going to invade Greenland, Canada, Panama AND Gaza...

Have I missed anywhere?

Whilst dismantling the CIA, and various other government agencies. If he wasn't POTUS it would be laughed at. I'm sure the US military isn't exactly excited about the opportunities for violent death that would be created. Or perhaps they are.

Like his threats of tariffs I suspect this is just bluster. The worrying thing is it enables Netanyahu to carry on with the slaughter knowing he has the backing of this idiot.

I can see him getting assassinated, there's got to be so many people wanting to do it. One of them will succeed eventually
Sadly despite the ready availability of weaponry, our American cousins seem to have lost their motor skills alongside their powers of ratiocination. As that useless klutz at Butler demonstrated.

Thing is, if these nut jobs were to be assassinated would it not just further lionise them in the eyes of their support and make things worse (if that’s possible)?

I don’t know.

World is going mad though.

Considering there have been attempts already, I'd be very surprised if there isn't a ready-to-go plan in place to use an actual assassination as a trigger to escalate the madness further.

This is a full scale assault on democracy with Trump just a convenient figurehead.

I'm not even sure how much control Musk really has - he's proven time and again that he's anything but a 'genius'.

I was just talking with my wife a couple of days ago regarding everything going "quiet" with regards terrorist attacks on the UK/USA etc.

Trumps stance on Palestine, turning it into a playground for the rich and famous while displacing a whole nation "somewhere" is going to make the world a very, very, very dangerous place again......and I just hope Starmer has the pips to distance the UK from this madness. But with him up to his neck in filthy Zionist money, somehow I can see him falling right behind Trump.

Fooking happy days, eh.
Not sure about you shoe horning an attack on Starmer into this discussion but hey ho.

And for sake of balance Nigel Farage the Reform leader thinks Trump is the greatest leader the world has ever seen and at least two former Conservative PMs have been over to the US to address the MAGA cult in the last 6 months. .

“Re-housing Palestinians in various Arab states” Already rejected by all of them.
It’s just basic ethnic cleansing. But, who can or will actually stop him. Meanwhile in the US his controller is in the process of dismantling the very organisations which could.
In any other country in the world this would be called a coup.

How?

His shameful stance on the Israeli genocide, half of his cabinets taking donations from Israel/Zionist lobbyists. Secret meetings with Israel politicians ........

Why would anyone think Starmer would suddenly stand up for the Palestinians when Israel has infiltrated the Labour party to an obscene level?

It's not an attack on Starmer, but do you honestly think he would do anything other than either stand by idly when the bulldozers move in (best case) or be an apologist (worst case) for Trump/Netanyahus actions?

These are really dangerous and concerning times. The world is at, or just past, an inflexion point that is going to have massive repercussions.

Everyone can see the danger this US administration and their cronies poses for the world, but because of the economic and military might of the US, nobody seems able to stop it.

Scale matters, as shown last week with tariffs.
Initial, brave words from Canada and Mexico followed shortly by giving Trump what he wanted (this week). That's the thing with bullies, once you have given them your dinner money once, they will back again tomorrow.

A united Europe has a degree of power (derived from scale) but not enough. We, as a nation, have placed ourselves in a very tight spot. We have, via Brexit, distanced ourselves from Europe while (unsurprisingly) failing to make any progress whatsoever in strengthening ties and influence elsewhere - the worst of both worlds. Trump is dangling the world's smallest carrot in our direction and frankly that has made things worse for us IMHO. I think it is designed to drive a wedge and to test Starmer. Can he be trusted (like a mafia boss, trust is hard win but easily lost)?

This feels like an unsolvable riddle. Everyone outside of Trump's base knows he poses a real and credible threat to the world's stability, but nobody dares confront it without risking their own country's stability, owing to US economic might.

I was quite young during the Cold War times, but actually this feels every bit as much an existential threat. In the Cold War on a national level it felt clear where our loyalties lay. I am not so sure now.

Unstable US
Unstable Russia
Unpredictable China
Weakened EU

It's a mess. I probably haven't thought everything through and this is a bit of a stream of consciousness but I am genuinely concerned for the future that my kids are growing up into.

The smirk on Netanyahu's face is incredible. He has obviously played Trump with the bait of a massive property development opportunity and he can hardly believe that Trump is so stupid and greedy to have taken it.

Imagine if a tiny but particularly nasty meteor crashed through the Whitehouse ceiling and landed on those two and nobody else was hurt. The world would be so much nicer.
God could do that. But 'he' wont, will he?

Sadly, all of what you say is so obviously true.,

Hamas comitted a crime against humanity; an attrocity. Israel used that as an excuse to raze Gaza to the ground and kill tens of thousands of innocents.

What if the British army blew up an entire block of flats with hundreds of innocent people, children in it because there was one terrorist inside. Then do it again. And again. And again. And would people say 'ah, but they have the right to defend themselves'?

Genocide is what it is. Let's state that as fact.
Try and get Starmer to say it. Try to get him to dare to criticise Israel. He wont because he will get the Corbyn treatment.

Facts. 👍

I read an anology a few months back saying exactly this - during the Troubles an IRA terrorist is thought to be hiding out in a house on the Falls Road. So the British send bombers in and indiscriminately level everything within a mile. Hundreds of innocent men, women and children killed.

World condemnation or a bit of a grumbling?
