Donald Trump - another irrelevance if he becomes president

European nations have & still are being far too dependent upon USA providing weapons, munitions & leadership.. we've needed to be upping our manufacturing capability since Trump was in power & esp since Russia invaded mainland Ukraine..

We're going to be left exposed & it won't just be Ukraine he invaded, if Trump wins I could see Putin using tactical nukes in Ukraine - Kiev - to test Europe's response & then the Baltic states plus Moldova would be swept up..

Europe is dozing as the bear prepares to attack..

Many on this thread confusing "I don't want him to win" with "no way he can win".
Nobody (of sound rational mind) wants him to win. But the debate is does he have a chance and the answer is an emphatic yes.
A lot of the statements on here saying Trump can win are likely born of fear in what the consequence of that win would be. It is a very rational fear.
People strongly saying he cant win sound to me a lot like the people that said Brexit wouldnt happen.

Many of the arguments against him were there in 2016. Some are more cemented in fact but that should have stopped him getting the Republican mandate. It didnt.

My opinion, Democrats could only have put up one candidate in 2016 that would lose to him. It was Hilary Clinton.
I have the same feeling in 2024 about Joe Biden.

This will be a long year of seeing which candidate makes a big slip up. However, the consequences of a Trump win should make the rest of the World nervous so lets hope he slips up most.

Your right as like you I can’t even contemplate that imbecile gaining power again but the possibility is now there and like you I think Biden beats him but anything could happen between now and November so who knows if it will even be Biden ( heath age is a concern).

My fear is if Biden was to be replaced by Kamala then that’s a whole different ball game.

It’s going to be a worry year because no one really knows

I honestly can't see it. Like in this country the far right is very vocal and very unwavering. The problem with more liberal, centre leaning people is they think about things. A trump suporter will literally die (OK maybe not literally, but certinaly allow their children to) to promote him. I imagine there are plenty of democrats thinking. Biden? Really? For different reasons but it's the same here. Tories will defned Tory forever but Labour will always in fight
