Donald Trump - another irrelevance if he becomes president

Ok, let's have some details shall we
One, the Biden is outraising the Trump campaign. A lot of Trump campaign money is being used to pay his legal bills.
Two, Haley has just beaten Trump by 30 points in the Washington Primary. That may not mean much in the race for the nomination, but it shows Trump up badly in terms of college educated Republican voters not voting for him. This bears out a lot of the exit polls of Haley voters who say they'll never vote for Trump. Yes, Trump has the support of the shítkickers and the lunatics, but normal conservative voters who understand the threat he poses to democracy will not support him in the numbers he will need to better his last total.
Just because Trump is leading a few polls right now, the closer the election gets, the more likely the choice between the old guy and the fascist will fall on the side of decency.
It’s shows that as you say not all republicans are brainwashed cult members.

Sadly though there’s also a lot that are.

The thing that I find scary is that 4 years ago pretty much everyone in the UK in the media and politics (maybe not Farage) were laughing at Trump or anti Trump. However now more of the right wing over here in politics and the media are now openly supporting him and trying to jump on the Trump band wagon, his approach has been normalised and is being accepted, now that's very scary

Trump is streets ahead in the polls. That coupled with Russian and Chinese voting interference will ensure he wins by a landslide.

I honestly think that if Trump gets in, the war in Ukraine will escalate to a war with NATO which Trump will sidestep for his buddy Putin. Very worrying.

He’s still spouting lies now

It wasn’t a unanimous decision at all.

It gives me no satisfaction to say it, but it was actually a unanimous decision. The vote count was 9-0.

The Supreme Court on Monday unanimously sided with former president Donald Trump, allowing the 2024 Republican presidential front-runner to remain on the election ballot and reversing a Colorado ruling that disqualified him from returning to office because of his conduct around the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Supreme Court rejects Colorado ruling, keeps Trump on ballot nationwide

However, the three liberal judges did disagree with some of the points put forward by the conservatives on the court.

While the decision was unanimous, the liberal justices wrote a sharp concurrence that accused the conservative majority of going further than needed.

Some additional good news regarding the DC Primary. That's where his jury pool for the Jan 6 trial will come from and so that significantly lessens the chance of him getting the one Trump apologist on the jury that could see no verdict.
I'm sure the Trump Scotus will take care of that though.

The war in Ukraine’s he says will be over in days and that only happens if Russia wins and that only happens if us turn off the taps

He was always going to win Super Tuesday and become the Republican nominee - I still don’t think he’ll win despite what the polls are saying though. We’ll be having another term of Joe.

I'm going to keep saying this until people finally get it - not only are most polls historically wrong, polls this far from November mean little to nothing. The average American in the street isn't being polled, it's often compiled by ringing registered voters and then having a telephone conversation with them about who they intend to vote for.

Now, I'm not being ageist, but the majority of people who will not only answer a call from an unknown number but then also have a conversation with the person on the other end are the older generation, and they are rapidly becoming a much smaller demographic of voters (for obvious reasons.)

These polls don't take into account voting intentions of the younger generation, who are politically influenced by social media and celebrities like Taylor Swift. Anyone under 30 isn't likely to vote for Donald Trump, they'd be destroying their own future.

Nikki Haley is announcing she is withdrawing from the presidential race. It's going to be a rerun of Trump v Biden, it always was though.
The bookies have Biden as 2/1 second favourite. Is this free money or will the bookies be correct on Trump winning?

The odds have shortened on Trump winning purely because he's just about won the Republican candidacy, nothing more.

It's also worth noting that betting on the outcome of the US election is actually illegal through American based bookies, so it's largely foreign punters affecting the odds.
