Emily Thornberry: Why are there 60 UK citizens stranded in Lima?

Dominic Raab : We are working very hard to repatriate any UK citizen stranded in the Philippines.

Emily Thornberry : Lima is in Peru

Raab is our Foreign Secretary.

I think he said he hadn’t realised just how important Dover was, to be a little fair to him, but yes that’s him.

Just on that, in 2015 I didn’t realise just how important Dover was but by 2016 I did, because I followed experts on twitter. Just think about that. I was more informed through Twitter in my spare time while holding down another wholly unrelated job.

Meanwhile Mr Raab, whose job it was, indeed the most important issue of any politician for 45 years, was less informed than me. And yet he confidently advocated a course of action without bothering to look at the details. Which is of course the difference between brexiters and Remainers all over.

Remainers, by and large, looked at the details and issues, listened to experts and made their decision accordingly. It’s the right process.

Leavers made their decision and then looked for opinions that confirmed their opinion and ignored those that didn’t, chose to put equal or more weight to the opinions of non experts over experts, or thought that something which had two outcomes meant that each outcome had an equal probability, so hey, might as well toss a coin or pick the option that has been made to sound more attractive to those of that mindset.

Literally none of that Brexit quote about leavers references anything to me so seems another load of garbage by a remainer who sees themselves as the all knowing. Hence why they lost the referendum in the 1st place

Why not?

Have you ever seen me arguing in favour of Brexit using any persons opinion or trying to justify it by using someone else’s opinion?

So you were in favour of Brexit because you didn’t listen to anyone’s opinion?

It was all based on a feeling you had?

I wasn’t arsed at the time. I literally protest voted as I knew if remain lost Cameron and Osborne would be gone. I’ve said this many a time. If remain had won I wouldn’t have thought about it again

what did happen is politicians started to smell a chance to over turn it. Along with many remainers with the your thick, your racist I’m better than you attitude came along and that gets my back up. So rather than change my view it made me entrenched in it.

Eventually I thought far more important the original vote was held up and if that meant supporting a Tory government than so be it as I believe if it hadn’t it would have seen confidence shot in politics for generations

In Peru there is a lockdown - you cant get in or out.

The Philippines gave a 72 hour notice of leave to all visitors.

in that context I can see why he has responded the way he did, it's a ministers answer - and there is no reference to him not knowing that Lima was in Peru.

Actually, there was a lot more to the exchange than I presented, which was based on a twitter trend. He probably didn’t actually think Lima was in the Philippines, but the second part to the question was about the embassy in Peru and why it was shut and had been of no assistance, indeed no contact, despite Raab’s claim that they were all working around the clock and doing everything to look after brits abroad.

Which shows him in the worse light?

You voted Leave because you wanted shot of Cameron and Osborne?

You, a Tory, wanted rid of a Tory PM and Chancellor. Why?

Because as I have stressed on many occasions this is the 1st time I have ever voted conservative. Always voted labour. What labour voters now need to learn the lesson from the referendum. Insult and you will lose. If I have to listen to insults from labour voters for 5 years accusing of me being a liar etc etc why would I come back. As Stephen Kinnock said the night after the election labour need to accept that brexit voters are a part of labours past and future

Prior to 2019 you had never voted Tory?

Who did you think would replace Cameron by the way?

Gents we are in National emergency, people are dying and you want still want to go over old ground. Please give it rest and concentrate on your families. Lefty how is your father I was reading you spent a bit of time with him in A&E recently.

No 2005,10,15 and 17 labour.

I hoped it would lead to an election. Eventually.... which I suppose it did
