This. It was nice to have the publicity and the cash but we could have done without the Chelsea tie, and also the slanging match that went with it, imoWe were good at home and had a feeling of invincibility. Our confidence and away teams caution meant we were getting good results. Then Chelsea reminded us we weren't invincible and we were a long way from being as good as we thought we were. Since then we've been mostly dreadful.
Chelsea is a good point as that did feel like a watershed moment again around the same time.This. It was nice to have the publicity and the cash but we could have done without the Chelsea tie, and also the slanging match that went with it, imo
Thanks I thought it would be significant but that is quite startling isn’t it.But in answer to the original question:
Pre-Burnley saga - 40 points from a possible 69, 12 wins from 23 games, 1.73 ppg, which was decent.
Since those links - 18 points from a possible 51, 4 wins in 17 games, 1.06 ppg, which is dire.
And really the 3 pts v Sunderland is the key to that number being over 1 so had we lost that ( it’s a derby form tactics etc go out the window) it would be less that 1 ppt which is shameful really. But in answer to the original question:

They arent really significant. I had the same hypothesis as you last season and so counted the points. There wasn't any significant impact on points per game. The hit to points per game comes from the matches this season. Ergo it was not Burnley. Thanks I thought it would be significant but that is quite startling isn’t it.
Almost like a switch was thrown.
Maybe not but something has definitely changed. They arent really significant. I had the same hypothesis as you last season and so counted the points. There wasn't any significant impact on points per game. The hit to points per game comes from the matches this season. Ergo it was not Burnley.
