Documentary recommendations

Enjoyed the book threads. Wondered if we could have a documentary recommendations one too.
Three that I have watched and enjoyed recently are:
The Street - a look at changes in East London by focussing on the residents of one street and hearing their stories. It's beautifully done.
Lift - this one is 20 years old now but worth a look. The director hangs out in a lift in a block of flats and gradually the inhabitants begin to talk to him.
The Hermit of Trieg - about a bloke who built himself a cabin in the Scottish wilderness and has documented his life for 40 years through photography.

If you like sport ( a broad range) then check out any of the 30 for 30 documentaries made by espn as they are all excellent and cover a myriad of different sports.

Loved The Street too, a community in the heart of London in Hoxton, where everybody knew everybody, hell you don’t even get that in little villages these days, a lot centred round the Pie and Mash shop….👍

I really liked the way that the filmmaker just let them talk. No narration, just the residents. I'd love to make a film like that.

Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey: Netflix

The story of a religious cult in the USA and its leaders. Told mostly from the point of view of escapees and law enforcement.

The Eagle Huntress
The Rescue
The Puppet Master: Hunting the Ultimate Conman
Manhunt (more a 3 part drama about true events)
Three identical strangers
The Imagineering Story

Loads in the past, but I've just watched this earlier and it's still on the Guardian site. Only 20 minutes but it is quite touching and echoes some of my and my family's experiences in coming from an immigrant background.

I'll definitely watch this. My great grandparents came here from Italy.
