Do we sometimes fail to appreciate what we have ....

Easy to get swept up in the the transfer window, and the squad limitations or gaps in the squad, especially the CDM and Striker positions etc.

But I think we need to remember what a gem we have in Hackney.

Barely a year into playing at this level and he has become a mainstay and even one of the first names on the teamsheet.

He is probably being asked to play slightly out of position alot of the time, in order to cover for weaknesses elsewhere in the team at the moment, but is cracking on.

In reality we have a homegrown talent, who is one of the standout players in his position, and I dare say 99% of teams in our league would snap him up in an instant.

He could become some player!

Long Live Hackney!

I think we do realise what we have, hence the pretty much unanimous collective "gerrrinn" when he signed his new deal and how he's excused most of the time with any below average performance/mistakes.

And how it's been generally assumed O'Brien will replace Howson.......

Continues his development, we don't get promoted, he's off for big money. 😬😬

We've probably got him for 2 seasons max if we don't go up. May even lose him next summer if he continues as he is.

Next 18 months are big for Hayden's personal projection.

He's clearly got talent, now we find out if he can go on to the big leagues and really become a big name or if he's just not going to reach those heights.

My two concerns for him would be pace and tackling.
