Do we buy position/attributes over players now

A lot of names are bandied about and it’s clear that the likes of warnock and pullis ( shudders) went after players that they knew could do a job.

This appears no longer to be the case as watching winning lines and looking at other US sports models where players based on attributes are presented to the club via the recruitment team, seem to the model we are looking at.

So I think the days of knowing all about the players that will walk through the door next are largely over.

Brentford have followed this model for a few years, done pretty well out of it.

Suppose it stops managers signing their favourites, get sacked, then the club is left with 3-4 players new manager doesn't want ......but we are stuck with them.

In theory.

Surely us never being linked with Archer and Ramsey in any serious way, and them both signing a month or so after Danks joined refutes that somewhat?

Or do you just mean permanents?
